Yer a wizard, MyFamilier

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is the first novel in the beloved series that became a world-wide success overnight. Kids and adults alike were lost in the words and sentences that build up the Wizarding World. It is not surprising, then, that it was turned into a movie back in November 2001. It’s been 20 year since that iconic moment (yes, TWENTY!) and its popularity does not seem to go down. So much so that the movie is hitting theaters once more to amaze the new generation and allow the oldies a bit of nostalgia and a few tears.

My Family Cinema could not miss the opportunity to honor such a magical event and that is why we hid ★ seven magical objects ★ in the text below. Can you find them all and become the most powerful witch or wizard in human history? If you are up to the task, cross over to Platform 9¾ and hop on the Hogwarts Express for a journey down memory lane.

The milestone of an era

Even though the saga already had millions of followers all over the planet before the movies came out, the arrival of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone to the big screen marked a watershed in the history of the franchise. The Harry Potter frenzy sky-rocketed to unprecedented levels, people fell under a cloak of enchantment. Some started quoting the script by heart and citing peculiarities of the filming process. Many others even started keeping a diary of all the publishings, posters, news and announcements about the saga. And up until this day, that fever has not decreased one single bit.

Farewell, good friends

Yet not all is fun and games. We had no choice but to say goodbye to many of the dearest actors who gave life to some of the most iconic characters in the franchise. Some more primary, some more secondary, but we cannot help but hallow them all: Richard Harris as Albus Dumbledore, Richard Griffiths as Vernon Dursley, Alan Rickman as Severus Snape, John Hurt as Garrick Ollivander and Verne Troyer as Griphook, among others. So, let’s raise our wands to honor those who are no longer with us, but will forever have a place in our hearts.

Still rocking in the present

Harry Potter made instant stars out of our favorite leading trio, Harry, Ron and Hermione. However hard fame might be, they were all able to break the spell of their characters and shape a path of their own: Daniel Radcliffe still has a strong career both on screen and stage and has shown that he has no reservations whatsoever when it comes to his acting, especially when it comes to letting his snitch shine under the spotlight; Emma Watson decided to broom off gender differences and grew up to be a powerful voice in feminist activism, and Rupert Grint, though pensive and modest at first sight, once owned an ice cream truck and became a family man.

If you are already a fan, this is your opportunity to revisit the characteristic magic and fantasy of the saga, and, if you have never seen any of the movies, this is your chance to fall in love with this universe that will surely not disappoint you.
