What is The Killer about?

As we mentioned earlier, The Killer is based on a French comic series. The first comic was published in 1998 and the last one in 2017. It’s yet to be confirmed how much of the story it will cover and whether there’ll be a sequel to it.

The Killer is about an assassin that, after a disastrous mistake, has to face whoever hired him in an international manhunt.

Here is the official synopsis for the movie:

“A man solitary and cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. And yet the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his cool. A brutal, bloody and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind.”

Who is David Fincher?

David Fincher, born on August 28th 1962 in Denver, Colorado, had his directorial debut in 1993 with Alien 3. Among his most notorious works we can find Se7ven, Fight Club, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl, as well as many episodes of the world famous series Mindhunter.

Fincher is known for his perfectionist approach in all his movies, and it’s said that this feature is strongly marked in his latest film. This obsession with perfectionism hasn’t always brought him joy, in fact, it has caused him a lot of strong feuds with producers in important media. He was even one of the candidates to direct a Spiderman movie, but due to creative differences with the producers, they never got to an agreement.

Fincher has even confirmed that he hates being on movie sets, since he’s not fond of other people proposing new ideas that might alter his original plan. As we can tell, he is a man faithful to his own vision, and, given his extraordinary filmography with little to none mistakes, we can confirm that this approach has been really helpful in his professional career.
