Netflix doesn’t miss the boat. With the recent K-drama fever and the huge success caused by the Professor and his gang, Netflix had the brilliant idea to bring these two things together. That’s right, we will have a South Korean version of Money Heist. Álex Pina, the original series creator, will be one of the executive producers of this new version and the talented Kim Hong-sun, director of the famous doramas The Guest, Voice, and Black, will be directing it.

The cast is already set, hyping fans up with a crew of amazing actors. If you don’t know them yet, don’t worry! You will be thrilled once you do. Let’s get to know their names because they will be all over the place very soon. But first, an image, for it speaks louder than words.

Cast: Yoo Ji Tae is the Professor, he is known for his powerful characters in Healer (2014) and When My Love Blooms (2020). Jeon Jong Seo is Tokyo, who appeared in the thriller movie The Call (2020). Park Hae Soo is Berlin, famous for Prison Playbook (2017). Kim Jihoon is notorious for his role in Flower of Evil (2020), and is our Denver. Park Jungwoo, the youngest of the cast, is Rio. Jang Yoon Joo, known for her strong presence in many movies, is Nairobi. Lee Won Jong is Moscow, he took part in a lot of k-dramas, such as Uncontrollably Fond (2016). Kim Jihun, who was in The Good Detective (2020), is Helsinki. And last but not least, Lee Kyuho as Oslo, one of his projects is Healer, where he worked with Yoo Ji Tae.

With this amazing news, we also got an amazing comment from the creator, Álex Pina, “Korean creators have been developing their own language and audiovisual culture for years. They have managed, like our series, to go beyond cultural borders and become a point of reference for thousands of viewers around the world, especially among young people. That is why I find it fascinating that the world of La casa de papel is so attractive to Korean creators as to do an adaptation. The fact that the action is set on the Korean Peninsula also seems to me to be a milestone which I am really delighted about”.

While we wait for the new version of this incredible story, we can enjoy the fifth and last season of our beloved Money Heist, starring Úrsula Corberó, Álvaro Morte, Alba Flores, Pedro Alonso, Miguel Herrán, Itziar Ituño, Jaime Lorente and Esther Acebo.
