Black Friday is here! If you’re not a fan of shopping, MFC brings you three films to binge watch this weekend. If you make it to the end of the article, you will find a bonus track 😉

The end of November is near, which means that it’s time for the best sales season of the year… Yes, we are talking about Black Friday! Normally, you think that the worst thing that can happen is missing out on the discounts of that product you wanted so much. Nonetheless, we think that the worst thing is chilling at home with nothing to watch! That’s why we give you three movies and a surprise to enjoy this weekend!

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Without a doubt, a classic for this season. A 2009 comedy based on the two first books of the Shopaholic saga by Sophie Kinsella: The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic and Shopaholic Abroad.

The film portrays the life of Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher), who dreams of working at her favorite fashion magazine. However, she starts to work as a columnist in an economics magazine published by the same company. There, she falls  in love with Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy), the company’s CEO. The film shows the glamorous world of the metropolitan New York City lifestyle and the people who face shopping addiction until they go into debt.

Comedy, romance and shopping… What else could you ask for?

Clueless

Clueless is a 1995 American teen comedy film, set in the luxurious area of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. The film portrays the superficial, luxurious and socially successful life of Cher (Alicia Silverstone), who is the most popular girl at her high school. Despite her appearance, Cher has a tender heart: she helps and befriends less popular girls, and also sees herself as a matchmaker, so she convinces two teachers to date.

The movie shows the social and emotional problems of the upper class youth of that time in California, at school and in their personal lives. Plus, Clueless became iconic for one main reason above all others: fashion.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

An option for the little ones and the whole family is the 2009 American film written and starring Kevin James.

The movie follows the story of Paul Blart (Kevin James) whose dream is to join the New Jersey State Police. Unfortunately, when taking the entrance exam, he has an episode of hypoglycemia and misses his chance. For that reason, he decides to take a job as a security guard in a shopping mall. When a gang of criminals takes over the mall, Paul is there to save the day.

Black Friday Surprise: Thanksgiving

The slasher genre is back on the big screen! Eli Roth returns with a film just for the blood and horror lovers.

This slasher takes place in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the birthplace of Thanksgiving. A year after the Black Friday fatal riots, a psychopath murder unravels a terrible massacre on the days previous to Thanksgiving. Trampolines, frozen doors and even a terrible oven are some of the original ways in which Roth together with his screenwriter, Jeff Rendell, will surprise horror fans. Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy) plays the town sheriff, who must unmask the murderer who stalks the population.
