Frozen 2
MFC Review
Enter a world of magic and adventure with Frozen 2 (2019), the sequel to the successful Disney animated movie, Frozen (2013), winner of two Oscar awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song in 2014.
Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, directors of the original movie, Frozen 2 is set three years after the first one and tells the story of Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) and her sister Anna (Kristen Bell), who embark on a new adventure into the depths of a dark enchanted forest in order to discover the origin of its magic and the ancient mysteries of their kingdom.
The film excels in its visual and musical section, as well as in the power that actresses transmit through their roles. The plot, although predictable, is very attractive and enriches the world in which the story unfolds. The focus of the film lies with the two sisters and their relationship. However, unlike the first one, in Frozen 2 there is no villain to fight against and the other characters do not have the same opportunity to shine as the protagonists, becoming slow and uninteresting at times.
Frozen 2 raised more than $ 1405 million worldwide, surpassing its predecessor and becoming the third highest grossing film of 2019. Despite its great commercial success, the film did not get the Best Animated Feature nomination at the Oscars 2020, but it got the nomination for Best Original Song. Despite not having the achievements of its predecessor, Frozen 2 is a beautiful film that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
