Everybody loves October, whether for the trick and treat season or because Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. It’s also that special time of the year when new series and movies are released and our favorite TV shows return to our screens. We have a lot coming up this month, and it was very hard to pick just a few, but MFC selected the most awaited ones by the people Here it goes.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage − October 15
After what happened in the previous movie, Eddie Brock is getting used to sharing his body with Venom and tries to get his life back on track. In order to be a journalist again, Eddie does an interview with the imprisoned serial killer Cletus Kasady only to find out that he also has a symbiote named Carnage that is even more wicked than Venom.
Director: Andy Serkis. Cast: Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris. Genre: Action, superhero, comedy, sci-fi.
The Last Duel − October 15
Truth will be set in a trial by combat. King Charles VI of France himself announces the duel between the knight Jean de Carrouges and the squire Jacques Le Gris, who firmly states his innocence after being accused of violating the knight’s wife. Based on a homonymous romance by Eric Jager, the story is filled with drama, injustice and revenge.
Director: Ridley Scott. Cast: Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jodie Comer, Adam Driver, Harriet Walter. Genre: Historical drama, suspense.
The French Dispatch − October 21
A love letter to journalists, the movie is set in a fictional 20th century French town where an American newspaper publishes a collection of stories in the final issue of The French Dispatch Magazine, bringing life to the narratives. Interesting fact: the chronicles are based on true stories published by The New Yorker, and the film features big names of Hollywood.
Director: Wes Anderson. Cast: Bill Murray, Benicio Del Toro, Timothée Chalamet, Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Léa Seydoux, Jeffrey Wright, Saoirse Ronan, Willem Dafoe. Genre: Comedy, drama.
I know What You Did Last Summer (Season 1) − October 15
Remake of the famous homonymous movie franchise, the TV show follows a group of teenagers that get into a car accident and kill a person when returning from their graduation party. In order to avoid trouble, they hide the body and swear secrecy. One year later, they receive threatening notes from someone that knows the truth. Then, they begin to be chased by a killer.
Broadcast: Amazon Prime. Cast: Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom, Bill Heck. Genre: Horror, slasher.
Succession (Season 3) − October 17
The winner of Outstanding Drama Series at the Emmys 2020 is back. With even more drama, the Roys get back together to continue the fight over the family’s empire. And, after the events of last season, meaning the exposé Kendall did on live TV of his family’s company, hell will definitely break loose. Let’s wait and see how the family will retaliate and if a conciliation between them will be possible.

Invasion (Season 1) − October 22
If the world was invaded by aliens and humanity was at risk, what would you do? Through this TV show, we can see how people from different countries deal with this terrifying and inconceivable situation, giving us their perspective of this strange event.
Broadcast: Apple TV+. Cast: Sam Neill, Shamier Anderson, Golshifteh Farahani, Firas Nassar, Shiori Kutsuna, Tara Moayedi, Daisuke Tsuji. Genre: Sci-fi.
