The series is set in 1989 when 16 women give birth simultaneously. Seven of them are adopted by the multimillionaire Reginald Hargreeves, who forms a team of superheroes called “The Umbrella Academy”. Along the seasons, the series explores aspects of this dysfunctional superhero family, from their personal problems to their battles against cosmic threats and their complicated time travels.
