In spite of being a season of union and joy, choosing the ideal movie to celebrate could be difficult since the cinematographic tastes of each family member can be different. That’s why in MFC we searched among the most popular genres of cinema to give you the ultimate Playlist of the best movies to watch on Christmas.

Klaus (Sergio Pablos, 2019)

Christmas is a particularly special time for kids. Not only they eat candy and receive gifts, but also watch the best Christmas movies. Klaus, one of the latest movies of Netflix, is a proof of that.
Klaus gives us a new and refreshing look at the birth of one of the most important traditions in the world through a beautiful animation, a great story and colorful characters. The film introduces us to Jesper, a mailman who is sent to an icy northern town as a last chance to prove his worth, and to Klaus, a lonely woodsman who spends his days making wooden toys.
Just like A Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966) and its new version, The Grinch (2018), Klaus has the potential to become a new animated Christmas classic, ideal to be enjoyed with your family.

Jingle All the Way (Brian Levant, 1996)

If the charm of animated movies is not enough to fill your Christmas with colors, a good family comedy may be just what you need, and Jingle All the Way is one of those classics that cannot be missed during the holiday.
Jingle All the Way stars Arnold Schwarzenegger in the role of Howard Langston, a busy family man who, due to forgetting to buy a Christmas present for his son, will do everything he can to get him the desired Turbo-Man action figure, the superhero of the moment.
Just like Home Alone (1990), The Santa Clause (1994) and The Christmas Chronicles (2018), Jingle All the Way is a movie for the whole family that will fill your Christmas with fun and joy.
The Night Before (Jonathan Levine, 2015)
Genre: Adult Comedy
If you spend Christmas with your friends and you’re looking for a good dose of laughter, The Night Before has everything you want.
In The Night Before you will meet Ethan (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Isaac (Seth Rogen) and Chris (Seth Rogen), three friends who meet for the last time for their traditional Christmas celebration, where they will embark on adventures full of alcohol, drugs and craziness.
If you want to watch more Christmas adult comedies, The Night Before can be accompanied by films like A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas (2011) and Bad Santa (2003). Just be sure that you have enough drinks, the best junk food and that there are no kids nearby.
Better Watch Out (Chris Peckover, 2016)
Genre: Horror
Christmas is a time of peace, joy and celebration. The perfect time for the unexpected to happen.
If you want to spend a terrifying Christmas, Better Watch Out can make it possible. The film portrays the efforts of Luke (Levi Miller) and his nanny Ashley (Olivia DeJonge) to hide from a murderer who tries to enter their house during Christmas Eve, in what could be considered a terrifying version of Home Alone. However, not everything is what it seems, and the secrets of certain characters will come to light.
For greater effect, Better Watch Out can be enjoyed alongside Gremlins (1984), Krampus (2015) and any version of Black Christmas (1974), scary movies that mix Christmas with comedy and other horror movie subgenres.

Die Hard (John McTiernan, 1988)
Genre: Action
Who says Christmas movies have to be about snow and Christmas carols? Die Hard is a Christmas movie filled with action, bullets and explosions.
In addition to being an action movie classic, Die Hard is a film that cannot be missed in any Christmas marathon. It tells the story of John McClane (Bruce Willis), a man who seeks to protect his family from a group of terrorists led by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), who robbed a skyscraper in Los Angeles during a Christmas party.
Although it happens during the holiday, there is a great debate about whether Die Hard should be counted among the Christmas classics or not. In MFC we recommend to accompany this movie with other Christmas action films such as Die Hard 2 (1990), Lethal Weapon (1987) and Batman Returns (1992).
