The spy that never dies… Bond, James Bond

The movie franchise of the spy with licence to kill is one of the most enduring, profitable and widely-known in film history. With 25 movies, James Bond has been portrayed by six actors so far, passing it down from generation to generation for 59 years, and the first one was the one and only Sean Connery, back in 1962. One interesting data is that the character was created by Ian Fleming in 1953, who wrote roughly 12 books about it.

Curious cat, curious cat! We organized the actors by chronological order. From left to right we have: Sean Connery (1962-1967), George Lazenby (1969), Roger Moore (1973-1985), Timothy Dalton (1987-1989), Pierce Brosnan (1995-2002), Daniel Craig (2006-2021).

The special agent has finished another cycle. Daniel Craig says goodbye after 16 years of portraying Agent 007. In the beginning, back in 2006, he wasn’t very welcomed by fans because of his blonde hair and blue eyes, which aren’t the usual physical features of the spy. However, Craig proved to be worthy of the character and became one of the favorites. Although among the 90s fans his antecessor Pierce Brosnan might have been the most-liked, Craig eventually won everybody’s heart. It’s like the same old story of which Batman is better…

For those who don’t know much about them, the movies are filled with action, spying (oh, really? ), betrayals, plot twists, Martinis and good romances with the Bond Girls, plus a plot that will keep you watching until the end even if it’s clichê. The most recent movie, 007 – No Time To Die, is already in theaters and promises a lot of action and sentimentality as it is the last time we will see Daniel Craig as the spy. The premise of the movie is that, after his retirement in 007 Spectre (2015), Bond has to get back in the game to capture a villain who possesses a dangerous technology.

The big question is: Who will be the next 007?

For a couple years now, fans have been asking for Idris Elba to take the part. Shall we agree that he would be an amazing and breathtaking James Bond? Besides him, many actors have been named as favorites to be the spy, some of them are Tom Hardy, James Norton, Regé-Jean Page, Sam Heughan, Richard Madden, Jack Lowden, and Cillian Murphy.
