New information about The Batman is leaked

Gotham’s caped crusader will return to theaters in The Batman, the tenth film in the DC Extended Universe and the reboot of the Batman movie franchise. The Batman will be directed by Matt Reeves and starred by Robert Pattinson, who will play a young Bruce Wayne at the beginning of his fight against crime.

Until now it was known that the film will be set during the 90’s and will tell the beginnings of Batman, focusing on his facet as a detective through a noir aesthetic inspired by the visual and narrative style of Alfred Hitchcock. The shooting of The Batman began in January 2020 and will premiere on June 2021 as the first of a new trilogy of films about the hero.

Now, the official cast of the film has been revealed. Robert Pattinson will be accompanied by Andy Serkis as Butler Alfred Pennyworth and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, while the gallery of villains in the film will feature performances by John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton / Riddler and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot / Penguin.

In addition, several photographs have been leaked from the set, where we can see various details about Gotham City, Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne and what appears to be the definitive look of Colin Farrell in his portrayal of Penguin.
