Director Wes Ball follows the script to the letter to give continuity to the unexpected installment of this new saga, but this time he wants to stage the future after Caesar’s reign, where apes are dominating the world and humans are at the mercy of them, indicating that the human species is not at its best.
In this story, a new leader is building an empire to dominate both his clans and humans, but Caesar’s son (Cornelius) will undertake new challenges accompanied by a young human girl who will do everything to stop and fight for her species.

WHO IS IN THE CAST OF PLANET OF THE APES: NEW KINGDOM?

Let’s highlight the new director, Wes Ball, recognized for his work in “The Maze Runner” trilogy, committed to give the best moments to the internet users in this long awaited continuation of the saga. This will be the first time that Andy Serki will not be joining us: Kevin Durand will play the lead role of Caesar, while Caesar’s son will be played by Owen Teague and Freya Allan, who was in “The Witcher”, joins the role of Mae. Together they play the lead roles in this story full of challenges and decisions that will shape the future of apes and humans. Also, Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Patrick Aison, among others.

5 FUN FACTS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT PLANET OF THE APES: NEW KINGDOM

1. The actors of the new cast spent 6 weeks of immersion in a place called “ape camp” where they had to learn to use all the implements of motion capture, gestures and primate sounds, directed by the motion coach Alain Gauthier and guided by Andy Serkis, who is a pioneer in the whole subject of motion capture and who has put himself in the skin of an ape during all the films of this saga.
2. The production theme is handled by cinematographer Gyula Pados who was on the cast of “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and production designer Daniel T. Dorrance who was on “The Jungle: A Good Day to Die”.
3. Planet of the Apes: New Kingdom was filmed from November 2022 to June 2023, on location in New South Wales, Australia.
4. The biggest challenge presented by this saga was in the scenes where the apes are wet, since their fur changes shape and color. Therefore Winquist and his team added technology from the movie “Avatar: The Sense of Water” to achieve this effect.
5. Throughout the saga’s run, they have used state-of-the-art motion capture technology to make the characters look extremely real. Each was nominated for an Oscar in the visual effects category.

President Steve Abell, in a press release stated: “this franchise is considered one of the gems of science fiction in the history of cinema and a source of pride for the studio’s legacy”.
