Director Tim Burton, returning to the universe of this iconic story after 36 years, clarified that the project is not simply looking to take advantage of the success of the 1988 original. According to Burton, his motivation for this sequel is deeply personal. He stated, So I knew if I was going to do something I wanted to do it from my heart“.

Regarding box office expectations, the industry estimates that the film could gross between 65 million and 80 million dollars in its first weekend in North America. Contrary to what might be expected, this sequel to “Beetlejuice” is presented as a standalone story, so there’s no need to have seen the first film to enjoy this new cinematic adventure.
