“Harold and the Purple Crayon” arrives as one of the biggest children’s releases for the last quarter of the year. This fantasy film combines animation and live-action, directed by Carlos Saldanha and based on the beloved 1995 children’s book.
An interesting note about “Harold and the Purple Crayon” is that it acts as a sequel to the original book. In this second part, the protagonist Harold, now grown, steps outside the pages and into the physical world with his purple crayon. Here, he discovers that real life is much more complex and surprising than the fantasy world he’s used to.
